Equipment Safety and Operation – Blended Learning
Situation: The Spring Manufacturers Institute (SMI) is an association of companies that manufacture springs or supply tools, equipment, and resources to the manufacturers. The members of SMI work together to meet the key issues of the industry worldwide including quality, materials, technology, government regulations.
SMI sought technical training on equipment safety and operation to make available to their members.
Solution: IVID created facilitator materials and a series of 3D animations depicting the mechanical and electrical systems and components for use in SMI's blended training programs.
Operation and Maintenance - eLearning
Situation: Johnston Sweeper sought to improve value to their customers by offering computer based training for models in service in municipalities throughout the U.S.
Solution: IVID developed a custom eLearning program on systems operation and diagnostic troubleshooting.

HVAC System Design - eLearning
Situation: Siemens offers a comprehensive range of building automation systems and HVAC products for every area of use like heating, ventilation, air conditioning, cooling application, and for every technical requirement. Siemens needed an effective way to explain its HVAC Design and APOGEE building automation system.
Solution: IVID created a media-rich eLearning solution that included scenarios and 3D graphical elements and animations.
SCORM-compliant eLearning curriculum
Situation: NetApp University provides industry-leading technical training and certification, with options for face-to-face, online, and virtual live training. NetApp sought to expand their training curricula for hardware integration and onsite product maintenance.

Roadrunner Cable - Sales and Marketing CD
Situation: Time Warner needed an engaging marketing channel to promote the Road Runner cable modem service to customers.
Solution: IVID created Road Runner High Speed CD with lighthearted animations demonstrating the benefits of the cable modem service.
Payoff: The marketing program was so successful that Time Warner affiliates customized the CD for specific markets (New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Cincinnati, Fairfax, and Wichita).
eLearning Design and Development Standards
Situation: San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (SDC HHSA) launched an eLearning initiative to familiarize training staff with eLearning design and development processes, tools, and terminology so that subsequent development can be performed "in-house."
Solution: IVID conducted a Training Needs Assessment, developed process standards, and conducted a 12-week hands-on training for the T&D staff using the Workers Comp Claims program as the model for eLearning design and development.
Payoff: HHSA identified components of their curricula to create as eLearning to save costs, reduce training time, and focus face-to-face training efforts were best suited.
Compliance Fundamentals, Privacy and Information Security, Identity Theft Prevention Program - eLearning
Situation: Toyota Financial Services currently employs approximately 3,300 associates nationwide who provide retail and wholesale financing, retail leasing, vehicle protection plans and certain other financial services to authorized Toyota, Lexus and Scion dealers, among others. Subject to state and federal regulations on Finance & Insurance companies, TFS is required to train its associates on compliance issues.
Solution: IVID created several eLearning courses detailing the regulatory requirements that impact TFS associates and the policies and procedures TFS has developed to ensure compliance with these requirements.
eLearning and POST Certification
Situation: The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), which establishes minimum training standards for California law enforcement, identified a need for training and certification in several key areas, including Clearing Intersections, Drug Identification, and DUI Processing.
Solution: IVID created a series of eLearning programs with pre-assessments and customized training paths. Certification was based on minimum standards established by POST.
Payoff: The training programs were deployed statewide to California police officers. POST performed follow up to confirm that training need had been successfully addressed.
teenSMART™ Teen Driver Training Program – eLearning and Workbook
Situation: Drivers 16 to 19 years of age have the highest average annual crash and traffic violation rates of any other age group, with fatal crash rates at nearly 3 times the rate for drivers ages 20+.
Solution: IVID helped create the teenSMART driver training program, a blended solution with workbook, video scenarios, online quizzes, and on-the-road exercises designed to increase awareness of the most common dangers for teen drivers.Payoff:
Lift Operator Safety Training and Certification
Situation: Federal Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) studies show that improper or unsafe forklift operation is the major cause of accidents and their corresponding fatalities and serious injuries in the material handling industry.
Solution: For JLG, IVID leads 4-hour, hands-on training and certification programs for lift operators. As a certified safety instructor for a variety of JLG lifts, IVID maintains up-to-date OSHA-compliant materials for onsite training and certification.
Lifelong Driver™ Adult Driver Training Program – eLearning, DVD, and Workbook
Situation: On average, 15 older adults are killed and 500 injured in motor vehicle crashes every day. Per mile traveled, fatal crash rates increase starting at age 75 and increase notably after age 80.
Solution: For ADEPT Driver, IVID created Lifelong Driver design concepts and produced state-of-the-art, video-based, driving simulations to reinforce safe driving concepts.
Payoff: Lifelong Driver is a scientifically based program that improves the driving skills older drivers need to stay safe on the road. In recent studies, drivers 55+ who completed lifelong Driver reported Lifelong Driver improved their driving skills, which could extend their safe-driving life.
Visual Specifier™, Design Tool – eLearning with CAD Simulations
Situation: Steelcase was rolling out a state-of-the-art CAD design tool, Visual Specifier, to a workforce of novice computer users.
Solution: IVID designed an engaging and highly effective training simulator and online support tool that covers how to design work environments, communicate options to clients, and develop pricing packages.
Payoff: The V-Spec training and support tool was distributed to more than 600 Steelcase designers in 170 dealerships. The aggregate savings for just the first release was $768,000. Steelcase continued to improve the V-Spec program and rerelease IVID training for 5 years.
Interactive Network™ Dealer Support Tools - eLearning, Webinars and Job Aids
Situation: Honda dealers rely heavily on their Interactive Network™ for corporate-to-dealer communications and notifications, marketing collateral, and online support tools for managing day-to-day dealer operations.
Solution: IVID created and maintained eLearning programs, webinars, and job aids for Honda and Acura dealer staff. We created Facilitator and Participant Guides, At-a-Glance laminated job aids, and step-by-step Quick Reference Guides for using the Interactive Network™ system.
Excede Integrated Dealer Management System - eLearning
Situation: Procede Software rolled out a best-in-class, Windows-based, integrated Dealer Management System and sought eLearning as a prerequisite to face-to-face training and support at installation.
Solution: IVID designed interactive, simulation-based training for Sales, Service, Parts, Admin, and F&I dealership staff. The eLearning provides requisite foundational skills and knowledge prior to installation.
Payoff: Onsite training for basic skills was reduced from 5 days to 2 days and onsite support was refocused on customization and on staff productivity.

Situation: The Snider Investment Method Workshop covers how their options trading method works in the market and the importance of consistency and risk management in your portfolio.
Solution: IVID created an online experience based on their 2-day workshop, including an introduction to Options Trading. The media-rich eLearning prepares investors for the hands-on workshop, provides reinforcement post-workshop, or replaces the workshop entirely.
Payoff: Since the introduction of the online "workshop" Snider Advisors is now able to reach a national audience and the hands-on workshop has been compressed from 2 days to one day.
Financial Agent Workbench - eLearning
Situation: The Daimler Chrysler Financial Agent Workbench is a state-of-the art, windows-based dashboard for managing and servicing captive finance accounts.
Solution: IVID created 4 hours of hands-on, interactive training for the Financial Agent Workbench roll-out. The training program simulated the system environment as associates worked through scenarios.
Living Free™ "Quit Smoking" Program, Living Lean™ – Online eLearning Programs, Tools And Apps, And Website Portal
Situation: SelfHelpWorks has been providing individuals and corporations leading Life Change programs for making healthy choices and permanently breaking emotional dependencies to alcohol, smoking, and unhealthy eating.
Solution: IVID designed the SelfHelpWorks LivingFree online program for smoking cessation with event triggers tailored to individual users. IVID continues to support the migration of SelfHelpWorks programs to new technologies.
Payoff: Their proprietary, cognitive behavioral based process for ending dependencies has been shown to be more effective than other methods, as demonstrated through independent studies. Considered to be an industry breakthrough, the live and on-line versions of these workshops have benefited over 150,000 employees in the last 15 years.
Rehab Management System – Device Interface, Clinician Interface, Database Design, Reports
Situation: DJO Global, Inc. launched the groundbreaking DonJoy Vista™ Rehab System - the first and only system to monitor home rehab exercise programs and assist clinicians and patients in assessing individual rehabilitation.
Solution: IVID developed the state-of-the-art clinician software that allow a clinician to customize exercise protocols, transfer the protocols into a heldheld patient device that guides the user through each exercise with continuous visual biofeedback, and records exercise data including range of motion (ROM) and load during exercise.
Payoff: The post-operative rehabilitation system facilitates the progression of patient recovery in a home or clinical setting by motivating patients through continuous feedback and recorded home exercise sessions.
Online Health Assessment, Touch Screen Kiosk
Situation: FitnessAge™ was the first-of-its-kind: an innovative method for measuring, improving and tracking your personal fitness. FitnessAge™ wanted to increase their exposure and get their product in front of as many people as possible.
Solution: IVID designed and developed a touchscreen kiosk version of the FitnessAgetm program for use in fitness clubs.
Payoff: Fitness club members were able to test and record their physiological attributes and then quantify them into a single number summarizing their fitness level expressed as an age. They were able to review suggestions for improving their overall fitness.
Corporate Communications Video
Situation: The Grossmont Healthcare District (GHD) is a public agency that supports various health-related community programs and services in San Diego's East County region. GHD represents nearly 500,000 people who live within the District's 750 square miles. GHD owns Grossmont Hospital on behalf of local taxpayers.
GHD desired a professional corporate video for communicating their mission and their leadership role in the community.
Solution: IVID produced a professional corporate marketing video highlighting the leadership role provided by Grossmont Healthcare District in the San Diego's East County region. The video highlights the facilities and the GHD brand.
Needs Assessment - Style Guides, Organizers, and Training Templates
Situation: Vericare is a leading provider of integrated behavioral health services for the geriatric population. To support rapid corporate growth initiatives, Vericare recognized the need to leverage corporate knowledge and optimize their onboarding and support processes.
Solution: After assessing their "gap," IVID provided professionally branded examples and instructions for creating materials for their onboarding process, including style guides, organizers, and training templates.
Payoff: Vericare recently leveraged their onboarding materials in a kaizen-based initiative, reducing a 90-day onboarding process by 50% and improving their employee retention.
Traveling Nursing Essentials – Marketing CD
Situation: American Mobile Healthcare sets the highest standards in professional recruitment for the travel healthcare industry, with more than 50,000 assignments filled across the U.S. since our inception in 1985. AMN desired a cost-effective marketing channel for recruiting student nurses and new grads.
Solution: Presented from the perspective of diverse group of young traveling nurses, this marketing CD consists of video vignettes to answer to the most frequently asked questions.
Payoff: AMN Healthcare was able to cost-effectively expand their reach to 1000s of nursing programs across the U.S.
Management and Leadership Training - eLearning
Situation: LA Fitness is one of the fastest growing fitness clubs in the U.S. To support their rapid growth, LA Fitness needed to leverage their knowledge base and promote their corporate brand by training and developing their General Managers to build bench strength from within their staff.
Solution: IVID teamed with Intelliscape Films for the creative treatment and video production to produce a media-rich, interactive eLearning course: Management Fundamentals. The theme of the eLearning followed "A Day in the Life of a General Manager" and incorporated key points from "13 Fatal Errors Managers Make and How You Can Avoid Them." Video scenarios illustrated the most common situations encountered by GMs and how to best handle those situations.
Capital Project Management - eLearning
Situation: P&G sought to reduce costs associated with management training and project overruns of first year capital project managers.
Solution: IVID delivered a web based training curriculum containing 20 self-study modules. The courses focus on basic project management planning and execution skills.
Payoff: The foundational program has reduced travel costs associated with training and has accelerated the talent development process for P&G's Capital Management group.
Pay, Performance, and Policy – Blended Learning
Situation: Ford Credit launched a talent management initiative to develop bench strength and prepare associates to advance their careers within the organization.
Solution: IVID produced management training curricula "Management and Leadership" and "Pay, Performance and Policy" training in a blend of self-study eLearning and classroom workshops.
Payoff: Pay, Performance, and Policy received the prestigious Gold CINDY award for excellence in visual communication. By leveraging video scenarios in eLearning, Ford Credit reduced training time (and cost) by shifting prerequisite skills and knowledge to self-study and focusing face-to-face on facilitated role plays of more complex management situations.
PCS®2 - eLearning
Situation: The PCS®2 is a market leading blood plasma collection device and one of the premier products in Haemonetics' broad line of blood processing instruments.
Solution: IVID created Operator training and Service Training programs and corresponding pre-certification assessments as prerequisites to hands-on certification training.
eQue - eLearning
Situation: With eQue, prospective donors conduct their preliminary interviews using a touch screen kiosk. Blood center staff remotely review the information submitted to determine donor eligibility. Haemonetics desired a training program for patients and center staff.
Solution: IVID produced an eLearning for center staff on the basic features and functionality of the system and certain center-specific policies and procedures that apply to their use of the system. We also produced a looping "Welcome" video for prospective donors entering the waiting room.
Payoff: The eQue training CD reduces classroom time for center staff and improves for training experience. The welcome video supports both the patients and center staff and expedites the blood donation process.
MCS+ Training - Video Diagnostics and Troubleshooting
Situation: MCS+ Disposable Loading Training CDs make extensive use of photos, audio, animations and video to demonstrate proper procedures for loading and handling MCS+ disposables. Haemonetics received complaints that their training didn't play on certain platforms.
Solution: IVID conducted a technical analysis to determine the root cause of the playback problems and to provide recommendations for optimal performance.
